Indian Opinion is an automated news aggregator. This page explains how stories are selected, written and checked, so you can judge what you are reading.

How stories are selected

We ingest published reporting from a large number of Indian news outlets via their public RSS feeds and news APIs. Incoming reports are grouped automatically into clusters, where a cluster is one real-world story covered by one or more outlets. We publish one article per cluster rather than one article per incoming feed item.

The number of independent outlets covering a story is recorded and used as a measure of corroboration. Stories carried by several unrelated outlets are treated as better corroborated than stories carried by one.

How articles are written

Each article is generated by an AI system from the full text of every source report in the cluster, not from a single source. Every article has the same three parts:

• The Story in Brief — a factual retelling of what the sources reported.
• The Indian Opinion — short commentary written to be measured, and to question one-sided or extreme framings of the story.
• Sources — links to the original reporting, credited by outlet.

What we do not do

We do not carry out original reporting. We do not interview sources, attend events, or verify claims independently. Every fact on this site originates with the outlet credited at the foot of the article, and the accuracy of that fact is theirs, not ours.

Human review

Articles are published automatically. Individual articles are not reviewed by a person before publication. We monitor the system as a whole — its prompts, its source list, its output quality and its failure modes — but we do not claim that a human has read each story.

We state this plainly because the alternative would be misleading. If you need certainty on a fact, follow the source link and read the original.

Attribution and copyright

Every article links the reporting it draws on. Copyright in that reporting belongs to the outlet that produced it. We summarise and comment; we do not reproduce articles in full. Rights holders with a concern should see our Corrections Policy.
