ADC Pughoboto issues advisory on NAP firing exercise
The Office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Pughoboto, has informed the public that the ‘A’ Company, 8th Nagaland Armed Police (NAP) Camp, Pughoboto, will conduct its Annual Classification Firing at the Outdoor Stadium, Pughoboto, on October 22 and 23.
In a circular issued by the ADC, all neighbouring villages and members of the public residing near the firing area have been advised not to enter or pass through the designated area on the scheduled dates. The Company Commander of the 8th NAP, Pughoboto, has been directed to put up public notices and warning signboards at junctions leading to the venue. The Village Councils of Natsumi, Pughoboto and Mishilimi have also been requested to issue necessary cautions to their respective villagers. The public has been urged to strictly adhere to the advisory and cooperate with the authorities.
Indian Opinion Analysis
The advisory concerns residents near the Outdoor Stadium in Pughoboto, who will face restricted access on 22 and 23 October for a routine police firing drill. The circular does not specify alternative arrangements for stadium users or the exact timing of the exercise. What remains open is whether the village councils and police notices will reach all residents, particularly those in outlying hamlets, in time to prevent accidental entry into the danger zone.
