Ajay Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal clash over Asitha Fernando spat

Yashasvi Jaiswal has reacted defiantly to criticism over his on-field confrontation with Sri Lanka pacer Asitha Fernando during the second Test in Colombo. In a comment on a Cricbuzz video, Jaiswal said: "If you don't know what he said then please don't make your judgment… this India will fight and reply."

Former India all-rounder Ajay Jadeja, speaking on Sony Sports, criticised Jaiswal's behaviour. "If you can't take it back, don't say it to others," Jadeja said, noting Jaiswal had exchanged words with Niroshan Dickwella in the previous match. India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak acknowledged Jaiswal should not have gone "that close" to Fernando but said it happened in the heat of the moment.

The incident occurred after Fernando dismissed Jaiswal for 45 and gave him a send-off. The two exchanged words, their heads clashed, and there was physical contact before Sri Lanka captain Dhananjaya de Silva intervened.
