Bangladesh seeks Sheikh Hasina extradition as Colombia quake kills 47

Bangladesh has again sought the extradition of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina from India. The request was made during the first meeting between Indian High Commissioner Dinesh Trivedi and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, english.mathrubhumi.com reports.

At least 47 people died in Colombia after a 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck the western part of the country. Buildings collapsed and residents were trapped under debris, with tremors felt in Ecuador and Panama as well, according to the same source.

In India, Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused the Congress of insulting the national song Vande Mataram during its Independence Day celebrations and demanded an apology. Times Now News adds that Jharkhand cancelled the JSSC-CGL and all TDPL-handled exams since 2014 and ordered a probe, while students demanded a CBI investigation.
