Nagababu gets Cabinet rank as AP GREEN chairperson

Andhra Pradesh has appointed MLC Konidela Nagababu as Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Andhra Pradesh Society for Greening & Reforestation for Ecological Enrichment (AP GREEN). The government has granted him Cabinet-rank status for this role.

AP GREEN aims to increase the state's forest and tree cover to 50% by 2047. The Cabinet rank does not make Nagababu a minister, the Environment portfolio is held by Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, his brother. Greatandhra reports that Nagababu will lead long-term greening initiatives, while TrackTollywood adds he will oversee major green projects across the state.

Nagababu is also a Jana Sena general secretary. His appointment shifts his focus from film events, where he recently appeared with son Varun Tej, to environmental leadership.
