Andhra Pradesh gives Nagababu Cabinet rank as GREEN chairperson

greatandhra.com reports that the Andhra Pradesh government has appointed MLC Konidela Nagababu as Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Andhra Pradesh Society for Greening & Reforestation for Ecological Enrichment (AP GREEN). The government has granted him Cabinet-rank status in connection with the appointment.

AP GREEN has been set up with the goal of increasing Andhra Pradesh's forest and tree cover to 50% by 2047. Nagababu is expected to play a key role in the state government's long-term greening and reforestation initiatives.

The appointment gives Nagababu a senior role in environmental policy without a formal Cabinet position.
