Brahmastra 2 script in works, social media reacts negatively

Brahmastra 2 is moving forward with the script being prepared, and Ranbir Kapoor will begin filming in April 2027 after completing Ramayana Part 2. According to m9.news, the sequel has sparked a debate on social media, with many neutral viewers saying they are not interested after the first film failed to meet expectations. Trade experts are cited as saying the first film was not a hit and delays have killed hype. However, some fans want Hrithik Roshan or Ranveer Singh to play Dev instead.

NDTV reports that Ranbir Kapoor will play both Dev and Shiva, while Deepika Padukone is expected to play Amrita. Alia Bhatt, who had a key role in the first film, will have a much smaller part this time, shooting for only 25 days. The main story will focus on Dev and Amrita. The film is planned as a 125-day shoot, and Alia is expected to have a parallel lead role in Brahmastra 3.

Social media criticism also targets director Ayan Mukerji, with some asking Dharma Productions to find a different director, possibly from South cinema. Alia Bhatt has been asked by fans to take a larger role or skip the sequel. The final outcome cannot be determined yet, as only a small announcement has been made.
