Two arrested in Jangpura murder, main suspect still at large

Delhi Police have arrested two men for receiving stolen valuables in connection with the robbery and murder of a 69-year-old woman in Jangpura Extension, but the main suspect who carried out the crime remains absconding and is believed to have fled the city. The Times of India reports that the two accused bought the victim's jewellery and mobile phone from the killer and have been taken into custody. Police recovered the stolen items and are questioning them.

The victim, identified as Kumar, was found dead at her home around 8 am on Friday by her elder daughter. Her hands were tied with a bedsheet, and blood was around her mouth. A pillow near the bed suggests she was smothered. CCTV footage shows the main suspect entering the lane around 3.15 am, scaling a small grill, latching the front doors of three neighbouring houses from outside, and then entering the victim's home. He left around 4 am with a bag.

Investigators found no signs of forced entry. Relatives said the victim would wake around 3 am to light diyas as part of her daily prayer routine, and police suspect the accused noticed this habit. The Times of India reports that police have questioned several people, including two carpenters and a car cleaner, who visited the colony or the victim's house in recent days. The search for the main accused continues.
