Former Afghan official shot dead in Pakistan’s Quetta

Haji Hazrat Ullah, a former Afghan security official and prominent anti-Taliban commander, was shot dead near his home in Quetta, Pakistan, on Sunday. Police said armed men on motorcycles opened fire while he was taking a walk in the Killi Raisani area. The motive remains unclear and no group has claimed responsibility.

Ullah, also known as Rorad Achakzai, was a militia leader of the Achakzai Pashtun tribe and had migrated to Pakistan in 2021 after the Taliban takeover. He led an anti-Taliban movement along the Spin Boldak and Kandahar border regions. Police are investigating whether the attack was linked to old enmity or his past activities.

Separately, two labourers were killed and three injured in a roadside bomb blast targeting their vehicle near Quetta. Security forces have launched a search operation for the perpetrators.
