German IT firm Adesso opens Pune, Chennai offices for Agentic AI

German IT services company adesso will open new offices in Chennai on August 3 and Pune on August 5, expanding its Indian network to drive Agentic AI solutions that combine autonomous AI agents with human oversight. The Hans India reports that Chennai brings expertise in data, AI and legacy modernisation, while Pune offers enterprise IT and engineering experience, particularly in automotive and manufacturing sectors.

The two-city move reflects a broader trend of global capability centres (GCCs) in India, with companies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland seeking technology partners near their teams. Adesso India already operates the Exasol Tech Hub in Chennai since 2025, but the new Chennai office will be its first independent cross-client location. The company plans to deliver custom software, cloud management, DevOps and AI services across automotive, financial services and life sciences.

Adesso co-founder Prof. Dr. Volker Gruhn has said IT teams need a seat at decision-making tables, the report adds. The new offices aim to position Indian teams earlier in global technology projects rather than after key choices are made.
