Hi trailer out: Nayanthara, Kavin film releases August 28

The makers of the upcoming Tamil romantic comedy Hi have released the official trailer ahead of its theatrical release on August 28. The film stars Nayanthara and Kavin in lead roles and marks the directorial debut of Vishnu Edavan, who has also written the screenplay. Cinema Express reports that the trailer introduces Kavin as Mayilsamy, a hopeless romantic who takes an extreme step after repeated failures in love, only to meet Devayani (Nayanthara) by chance, leading to a series of capers.

The Times of India adds that the story follows Mayilsamy's one-sided love for Devayani, who is portrayed as a woman who does not follow conventional rules. The two are forced into marriage after an unexpected situation, and the film explores whether Mayilsamy can win her heart. The cast also includes the late actor Bhagyaraj, Prabhu, and Radikaa Sarathkumar. The film was initially slated for a mid-August release but was postponed by a week.
