HMT watch factory revived, sells Rs 35 lakh on I-Day

Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy said HMT watch factory has been revived after he took charge of Heavy Industries. The company sold watches worth Rs 35 lakh on Independence Day alone, restoring the brand's past glory.

Speaking at Holenarasipur, Kumaraswamy also commented on the Hanur encounter where three alleged poachers were killed. He said the firing should not have been fatal, suggesting shooting in the leg instead, and demanded action to ensure justice for the families.

Kumaraswamy criticised Congress leaders over the Vande Mataram row, citing a central law on respecting the national song. He said Congress leaders are showing pettiness and ruining the party's image.
