HP Homeguards invites offline applications for JOA (IT) post
The Story in Brief
The Himachal Pradesh Home Guards and Civil Defence Department has announced one vacancy for Junior Office Assistant (IT) on a job trainee basis, reserved for Orthopedically Handicapped (OH) candidates with at least 40% permanent disability who are bona fide residents of Himachal Pradesh.
Applicants from non-tribal areas must send their forms by 31 October 2026, while those from tribal areas have until 10 November 2026. Applications must be submitted offline via registered post or by hand. Eligible candidates need 10+2 or Matric with an ITI/Diploma in IT-related fields and a computer typing speed of 30 wpm in English or 25 wpm in Hindi, with exemptions for those certified unable to type.
Selection will be based solely on document merit, with no written exam. The fixed monthly emolument is Rs 12,500.
Indian Opinion Analysis
The notification opens a single clerical post exclusively for orthopedically handicapped candidates in Himachal Pradesh, with a low fixed stipend of Rs 12,500 a month. The merit-only selection, without a written test, places full weight on submitted documents, making the accuracy of the application form critical. Candidates from non-tribal areas face a 31 October deadline, just two days from now, while tribal-area applicants have an additional ten days. The department has not specified an application fee.
