Hyderabad Black Hawks win Guardians Trophy after trials

Hyderabad Black Hawks' Under-21 team won the Guardians Trophy in Goa on Sunday, defeating hosts Goa 3-1 in the final. The championship match ended 15-7, 11-15, 16-14, 15-8. Sarthak Singh was named Player of the Match, Most Valuable Player, and Best Attacker for the tournament, Telangana Today reports.

The team's journey began on August 6 at VR Siddhartha Engineering College in Vijayawada, where the franchise held U-21 Selection Trials and Open Trials for its Prime Volleyball League main squad. The U-21 trials attracted 105 players, with registration closing early due to strong response, The Hans India reports. Selected players attended a training camp until August 12 before traveling to Goa.

The Open Trials for the main PVL squad, held the same day, were open to experienced players from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Participants must register for the PVL Auction through the official league portal.
