IIFT invites applications for Head of Centre for WTO Studies
The Story in Brief
The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has invited applications for one post of Head of the Centre for WTO Studies (CWTOS), on contract or deputation basis. Candidates include academicians, industry professionals and government officers. Academicians must hold a Ph.D., have at least 10 years of relevant experience and eight years at assistant or associate professor level. Industry applicants need at least three years of direct experience in international trade or related fields.
Applicants must email their CV and a one-page suitability write-up to [email protected] by 9 November 2026. The Centre for WTO Studies was set up in 1999 by the Department of Commerce to provide research inputs for WTO negotiations.
Indian Opinion Analysis
IIFT has moved to fill a vacancy that carries direct responsibility for research and negotiation support on WTO matters. The post sits inside an autonomous body under the Department of Commerce, which means the appointee will work closely with government trade negotiators. The three-track eligibility, academic, industry and deputation, reflects a need for candidates who combine policy knowledge with administrative heft. The 9 November deadline leaves under three weeks for applications. A short write-up on suitability is mandatory, any CV without it will be rejected.
