Jaiswal could face ICC ban after head-butt clash with Fernando

India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is at risk of severe disciplinary action from the ICC after he appeared to head-butt Sri Lanka pacer Asitha Fernando during the second Test in Colombo. The incident occurred on the final ball of the 17th over after Fernando bowled Jaiswal for 45. Several Sri Lankan players surrounded the pair as tempers flared, and teammate Devdutt Padikkal tried to pull Jaiswal away, but he persisted in moving toward Fernando, leading to the players bashing their heads.

Times Now News reports that under ICC rules, a Level 4 offence, which covers physical assault, can draw a ban of between five Test matches or 10 ODIs, up to a life ban. Jaiswal had looked confident during his knock of 45 from 53 balls with nine fours before Fernando got him. India were 66 for 2 at that point, with Sri Lanka having fought back after a promising start.
