Jammu and Kashmir Police seize 10 vehicles in illegal mining crackdown

Police in Jammu and Kashmir have seized 10 vehicles and registered four FIRs in separate actions against illegal mining in Anantnag and Shopian districts. Three tractors carrying illegally extracted bajri and boulders were intercepted in Anantnag. The drivers lacked valid documents, said officials.

In Shopian, police seized six tractors and one tipper at different locations. The vehicles were found involved in unauthorised extraction and transportation of minerals without mandatory permission. FIRs were registered at Police Station Shopian, Heerpora, and Imamsahib, and investigations are underway.

Jammu and Kashmir Police reiterated its commitment to protecting natural resources and warned of strict legal action against violators. The public has been urged to report any unlawful mining or transportation activities.
