Lucknow Municipal Corporation waives interest on property tax dues

The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has launched a one-time settlement (OTS) scheme waiving interest and surcharge on overdue property, water, and sewer tax for dues accumulated up to April 1, 2026. The scheme, effective from August 15, runs until December 15.

Property owners who pay the full principal amount get exemption from additional charges. LMC will contact defaulters via SMS, email, and letters from August 15 to September 14. Helpdesks are open in all eight zones for online or offline applications, with signed receipts for offline submissions.

Municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar has directed daily progress monitoring. The electricity department has already applied for its government buildings. Separately, LMC demolished 53 ramps at Polytechnic intersection and removed stalls and kiosks during an anti-encroachment drive to improve traffic flow.
