Ludhiana woman gang-raped after brother elopes with accused’s daughter

A 29-year-old married woman was allegedly gang-raped by four men in Ludhiana on May 1, police said on Sunday. The accused, who recorded the act on their phones, targeted the woman because her brother had eloped with the daughter of the main accused in April.

The victim, a mother of two, was too traumatised to report the incident for months. A case has been registered at Tibba Road Police Station against Ravinder Singh, his brother Varinder Singh, son Aman Singh, and associate Santosh Singh, all from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.

According to the police, the four men went to the victim's house on May 1 looking for the eloped couple. Not finding them there, they allegedly threatened, raped her, and warned they would upload the video online if she complained.
