Delhi woman drugged and raped twice by social media friend

A 22-year-old makeup artist has alleged she was drugged and raped twice in Delhi by a man she met on social media, police sources said on Sunday. The woman told police the accused first assaulted her in a hotel in northwest Delhi in July after giving her a sedative-laced cold drink. He later promised to marry her and dissuaded her from filing a complaint.

On August 8, the accused allegedly took her to a hotel in GTB Nagar and raped her again, threatening to kill her when she resisted. Her condition worsened and she was taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Police have registered an FIR and are searching for the accused. CCTV footage and the hotel's entry register have been seized, a source said.
