Mini Mathur says her children with Kabir Khan have no religion

Television host and actor Mini Mathur has opened up about her interfaith marriage to filmmaker Kabir Khan, revealing that the couple have not assigned any religion to their children on official documents. In a conversation with Hauterrfly, Mini said she has filled forms for their children, daughter Sairah and son Vivaan, as "no religion" or "humanism," and that the authorities accepted it. She added that neither she nor Kabir are religious but value the cultural traditions they grew up with.

Mini, who married Kabir before joining MTV as a VJ in the mid-1990s, recalled that her conservative father initially hesitated upon learning that Kabir was Muslim. However, three days later, he accepted the match, saying, "So what if he is Khan? There's just a difference of 'na' in Khan and Khanna." Mini said she never faced opposition from either family or from civic bodies such as the BMC and the passport office when registering her children's names. The couple have been married for over two decades.
