संसदेने सर्वोच्च न्यायालय (न्यायाधीशांची संख्या) दुरुस्ती विधेयक २०२६ मंजूर केले आहे. यामुळे सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाची मंजूर संख्या ३४ वरून ३८ न्यायाधीशांपर्यंत वाढली आहे. १ जानेवारी २०२६ रोजी सर्वोच्च न्यायालयात ९२,१०१ प्रलंबित खटले होते. गेल्या वर्षी ७५,४१० नवीन दाखल तर ६५,६१५ खटल्यांची निकाली काढण्यात आली. खालच्या न्यायालयांमध्ये सुधारणांची गरज खासदारांनी व्यक्त केली.
