NDMC completes 25th Sunday plantation drive under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’

New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal led a plantation drive at the NDMC Housing Complex in Jor Bagh on Sunday, the 25th consecutive Sunday under the '#EkPedMaaKeNaam_OnSunday' campaign. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for environmental conservation, the drive saw participation from Residents' Welfare Associations, local residents and NDMC officials, who planted saplings in their mothers' names.

Chahal said the campaign has become a broader public movement focused on sustainability. The NDMC has prepared a year-long 'Green Calendar' for weekly drives across its area, with departments like horticulture and sanitation jointly maintaining saplings. A special event is planned for World Environment Day on June 5.
