Owaisi asks Modi govt if PLA blocked army patrols in Arunachal

AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday questioned the NDA government on the situation along the China border in Arunachal Pradesh, asking whether the Chinese People's Liberation Army blocked Indian Army patrols from accessing areas they had previously patrolled. In a post on X, Owaisi also asked if the PLA destroyed a temporary structure built by Indian troops in Indian territory.

Owaisi asked whether the government is pushing the army not to press strongly for patrolling rights in the area where China is creating trouble, because it is keen to portray normalcy ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping's expected visit to Delhi next month. He accused PM Modi's government of keeping the public in the dark, as it did in Doklam in 2017 and Ladakh in 2020.

Repeating the questions due to what he called the 'continued silence of the Modi government', Owaisi said governments and prime ministers come and go, but India's territorial integrity and sovereignty cannot be compromised. The Union government has not yet responded to his queries.
