Pakistan army slams Operation Sindoor documentary as propaganda

Pakistan's armed forces spokesperson Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif issued a statement at 2am on Tuesday dismissing Discovery Channel's documentary 'Declassified: Operation Sindoor' as a 'tragedy and a comedy', accusing India of using selectively edited interviews and cinematic reconstruction to rewrite operational outcomes. The documentary, which premiered on August 15, features Indian NSA Ajit Doval and top military commanders recounting the 88-hour operation launched on May 7, 2025, after the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 tourists.

Sharif alleged the documentary contained fundamental contradictions and was a belated attempt to manufacture a domestically palatable version of events. He claimed India had cobbled together a propaganda video to project a military blunder as a success. Hindustan Times and Times Now both reported Sharif's comments, with the former describing Pakistan as 'flustered' and 'scampering', while the latter said the documentary had 'hit a raw nerve'. Neither outlet presented any independent evidence to counter Pakistan's claims about the operation's actual outcome.
