PC George alleges Rs 4.45 crore BJP election fund misappropriated

Former Poonjar MLA PC George has alleged that Rs 4.45 crore of BJP election funds for the constituency was misappropriated. Speaking at a BJP event, he said the entire amount was entrusted to party worker Saji Kurikkad, but that many booth-level workers never received their share. George claimed that despite serving as an MLA for 33 years, he never took even 5 paise from anyone.

George said he asked for accounts after the election and was given figures showing expenditure of Rs 4.45 crore that would 'bring shame' to party workers. He cited an instance where a booth president said he had not received Rs 31,000 meant for distribution, and the person responsible claimed he had forgotten. George warned that anyone using BJP funds for personal gain would not benefit and that 'God will not spare anyone who steals.'
