Pinarayi Vijayan rejects hawala allegations, says family targeted

Leader of the Opposition in the Keralam Assembly Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday strongly denied allegations of hawala dealings involving him, his daughter T. Veena, or any other family member. He asserted that his 'hands are clean and will remain clean.'

Responding to questions in Thrissur about the Enforcement Directorate's money laundering investigation involving Ms. Veena, Vijayan said his daughter has cooperated with the probe and will continue to provide any information sought. He alleged that she is being targeted because she is his daughter.

Vijayan also questioned the ED's decision to issue a press release on the case, noting the agency usually publishes such information on its website. He reiterated that Ms. Veena is 'not a very rich person' and the amount being discussed is not particularly large.
