PM Modi feeds animal ‘friends’ before Independence Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a video on Instagram of himself feeding cows and peacocks at his 7, Lok Kalyan Marg residence before leaving for the Red Fort for the 80th Independence Day celebrations. The Hindustan Times and Times of India reported that Modi described the animals as his 'friends' and said feeding them is a daily routine. 'Yesterday morning, they somehow realised I'm leaving early, so they came to meet me,' he wrote.

Modi then hoisted the national flag at the Red Fort, accompanied by a 21-gun salute using indigenous guns. In his address to the nation, he outlined goals for a Viksit Bharat by 2047, focusing on youth, manufacturing, technology and self-reliance. He also announced measures on AI training and competitive exams, and stressed expanding nuclear power capacity.
