Prashant Kishor’s Rs 73.87 crore property portfolio raises allocation questions

Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has declared residential buildings worth Rs 73.87 crore and non-agricultural land valued at Rs 9.75 crore in his election affidavit, Livemint reports. His portfolio includes four self-acquired properties purchased between 2016 and 2024 worth Rs 49.5 crore, plus inherited assets valued at Rs 14.62 crore in Ghaziabad, Buxar, and Rohtas.

Financial experts cited by Livemint say such concentration in real estate can create liquidity problems. Shashank Udupa of Vayu Capital recommends a 50% real estate and 50% equity-plus-debt split for balance. Yudhajit Baul of Yudhajit Financial Services warns that illiquid, low-income properties can become liabilities and disrupt wealth creation.
