Ranabaali opens to mixed reviews, Rs 16.50 crore worldwide day 1
Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna's period action drama Ranabaali released on 16 October to mixed reviews. The film earned a worldwide gross of Rs 16.50 crore on day one, according to Sacnilk, with Rs 10.75 crore domestic gross and Rs 5.75 crore from overseas. TrackTollywood reported a slightly lower worldwide figure of Rs 15.65 crore, while 123Telugu put the Nizam distributor share at Rs 2.15 crore. The makers have asked theatres to increase sound levels from 5.6 to 6 or 6.6 after criticism of the background score.
Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga urged audiences to watch the film, praising Vijay's character portrayal and Rashmika's performance. Vijay said Ranabaali will always hold a special place in his career and that his mother cried during an emotional scene. The digital rights have been bagged by Netflix, with streaming expected by mid-November, though no official date has been announced. The film's second-day collections will be crucial to its box office run.
Indian Opinion Analysis
Coverage of Ranabaali is largely neutral-report, with factual box office figures and release details. Two sources, both from m9.news, adopt a sensationalist framing: one leads with the makers asking theatres to raise sound levels after criticism, and the other with Vijay's emotional family reaction. Telugu360 is neutral-report but adds a promotional boost by carrying Sandeep Reddy Vanga's endorsement. The box office figures vary: Filmibeat (Rs 16.50 crore worldwide) and TrackTollywood (Rs 15.65 crore) disagree by nearly a crore. The m9.news sound-level story highlights a specific production response but does not quantify how many theatres complied. The balanced reading is that the film opened averagely, earned mixed critical response, and now depends on Saturday's (17 October) hold and the Dussehra holiday period to recover its reported high budget.
