Shreyas Iyer’s dance video with Dhawan and Tilak Varma goes viral
An old video of India T20I captain Shreyas Iyer dancing with former cricketer Shikhar Dhawan and Tilak Varma at a gym has gone viral. In the clip, a shirtless Iyer can be seen dancing to Tamil star Ajith's song 'Chilla Chilla' from the film 'Thunivu'. Dhawan shared the video on social media with the caption: 'That's how I bond with the boys. #OldMemories #Nostalgia.'
The video drew amused reactions from fans, with comments calling it 'so cute' and 'so funny'. The light-hearted moment comes after Iyer-led India completed a 3-0 T20I series whitewash against Zimbabwe in July, successfully defending 192/5 in the final match. Iyer called the win a 'special feeling' and praised the energy and intent of his young squad, noting that different players stepped up in every department.
Indian Opinion Analysis
The video shows a rare off-field glimpse of Iyer, who took over T20I captaincy after a difficult phase for India in the format. India had lost six consecutive T20Is before the Zimbabwe series, making the 3-0 sweep a crucial early win for his captaincy. Iyer's leadership will be tested in the upcoming home season against stronger opponents. The next big assignment is the T20I series against Bangladesh in October, where consistency will be key.
