Sunny Deol says conscience stops him from doing pan masala ads

Sunny Deol has said he will never endorse pan masala products, even though he has received offers. The actor made the remark on Shubhankar Mishra's podcast, explaining that his personal beliefs do not allow him to promote such items. "Main in sab cheezon ko manta nahi hoon. I don't think this is a good thing to promote," he said, adding that he has turned down several other deals for the same reason.

NDTV and the Times of India report that the actor was asked why he avoids pan masala endorsements while many of his peers accept them. Deol said he does not understand why ads do not come to him, comparing the situation to a lean phase in his film career. The discussion comes weeks after the Maharashtra FDA sent show-cause notices to Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff over a Vimal Elaichi advertisement, which the regulator said appears to be a surrogate promotion of banned pan masala.
