Supreme Court opens 65 senior personal assistant posts, apply by 10 November
The Story in Brief
The Supreme Court of India has invited online applications for 65 senior personal assistant posts, a Group-B non-gazetted position. Applications opened on 20 October and will close on 10 November, with a likely written exam on 7 December 2026.
Selected candidates will start at a basic pay of Rs 47,600 per month, on pay matrix Level-8, which can rise to Rs 1,51,100. Applicants must hold a graduate degree and meet specified speeds in English shorthand and computer typing. The selection process includes an objective test, a skill test, and an interview covering general knowledge, English, constitutional provisions, and Supreme Court rules.
Application fee is Rs 1,500 for general and unreserved categories, and Rs 750 for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, persons with disability, and ex-servicemen. Payment is online through UCO Bank's gateway.
Indian Opinion Analysis
The 65 senior personal assistant posts are the first major recruitment from the Supreme Court in this fiscal year. For the nearly 10,000 daily visitors to its website seeking a Group B job, the real gate is the English shorthand and typing speed test, not the objective exam. The Court has scheduled the written test for 7 December, and applications close on 10 November, so applicants have barely three weeks to meet the skill standards that will decide the shortlist.
