Telangana AYUSH doctors’ hunger strike enters Day 12

The indefinite strike by AYUSH house surgeons, students and postgraduate doctors in Telangana entered its 12th day on Saturday, with protesters launching relay hunger strikes at government AYUSH institutions. The New Indian Express reports that the demonstrators are pressing for a stipend hike that has been pending for nearly a decade.

Protesters said repeated representations to the state government over the revision of stipends for AYUSH interns and PG doctors had yielded no decision. They vowed to continue the relay hunger strikes until their demands are met, urging the government to address the issue.
