Two injured in police encounter over abduction and robbery in Gr Noida

Two men were injured in a police encounter on Saturday in Greater Noida after they allegedly robbed two people of Rs 8,800, held them hostage, and forced them to transfer money online, officials said. Police rescued the two victims and arrested the suspects following a chase and exchange of fire.

According to the assistant commissioner of police, the suspects abducted one victim near Zero Point and robbed another near a private university in Dankaur. The victims were forced to call relatives to transfer more money, prompting a call to the police helpline. A third suspect managed to flee and is being sought.

Police seized a Hyundai i20, two pistols, spent and live cartridges, mobile phones, and Rs 10,000 allegedly snatched from the victims. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act.
