Warangal DMO K. Surekha dies in road accident

Warangal District Marketing Officer (DMO) K. Surekha, 43, died in a road accident on the Tadwai, Pasra stretch in Mulugu district on Saturday (August 16, 2026). A lorry collided with her car, killing Surekha and the driver, Chinta Vijayababu, on the spot, police said.

Surekha’s death follows a series of family tragedies. Her 15-year-old son Sukrith died in a road accident two years ago. Her husband Kiran died of illness four months ago. She had earlier served as an Agricultural Market Officer in Mahabubabad district. Colleagues recalled her as a dedicated officer. Police have registered a case on a complaint by her sister K. Harika. Investigation is under way.
