Woman murdered in Shaheen Nagar, live-in partner on run

A 21-year-old woman, Rehana Begum, was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner Ahmed Salam at Bismillah Colony in Shaheen Nagar late Sunday night. The Times of India reports that police found her body stuffed in a gunny bag when they arrived. The couple had been arguing over marriage for several days, and police suspect Ahmed attacked her with a knife.

Balapur police have taken three persons into custody, including two who allegedly assisted Salam. The couple, both workers at a local function hall, had been living together for a few months. A case of murder under Section 103 of the BNS has been registered. Assistant commissioner of police DV Pradeep Kumar Reddy said the body was ready to be disposed of.

Police received a call about the murder through Dial-100 from an unidentified person. Senior zonal police officials visited the spot. Salam remains missing.
