Yuva Sangam Phase 7 registration deadline extended to August 31
The government has extended the registration deadline for Phase 7 of the Yuva Sangam youth exchange programme until August 31. The initiative, under the Ministry of Education, aims to connect young Indians from different states through educational and cultural tours.
Selected participants will undertake five to seven day tours (excluding travel days) to their paired states and union territories. The programme covers travel, accommodation, meals, and cultural activities. Eligible youth can apply through the official portal at yuva Sangam.gov.in.
The tours typically involve visits to historical sites, industrial hubs, and interaction with local communities. Earlier deadlines had been set for July, but the extension reflects efforts to boost participation. Over 4,000 youth have participated in previous phases since the programme launched in 2022.
Indian Opinion Analysis
Yuva Sangam is a central scheme aimed at fostering national integration by exposing young people to different cultures within India. The programme targets those aged 18-30, though exact selection criteria typically involve academic or community leadership backgrounds. About 500-1000 participants are usually selected per phase, with each participant's travel, accommodation, and meals covered by the government. Phase 7 is likely to involve pairing states like Tamil Nadu with Haryana or Uttar Pradesh with Kerala. The next concrete step for interested applicants is completing the registration before the new August 31 deadline.
