2027 census to ask 40 questions across India

The central government is preparing for the 2027 census, which will collect information through 40 questions covering population details, education, employment, migration, bank accounts, and digital literacy, according to Tupaki.com.

The process will begin with basic details such as name, family relationship, gender, date of birth, age, and marital status. Married individuals will be asked their age at marriage and spouse's name. The census will also record nationality, religion, SC/ST/caste details, and parents' information.

Additional questions cover educational qualifications, digital literacy, employment history, occupation, migration patterns, and reasons for moving. The census will also collect data on bank accounts, mobile numbers, and identity documents such as Aadhaar, voter ID, passport, and driving licence where available.
