77 Isha Foundation pilgrims missing after Nepal flash floods

At least 77 pilgrims from Sadhguru's Isha Foundation are missing after a flash flood hit Nepal's Rasuwa district near the Tibet border on Wednesday, September 27. The group was returning from the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and was at the immigration office in Gyirong when the flood struck, Sadhguru said. The building and much of the surrounding town were flooded.

The Nepal Tourism Board reported 384 travellers missing, including 291 foreign nationals and 93 Nepalis. Among the foreign nationals were 105 Indian tourists and 37 NRIs. At least 59 of the missing Indians were Kailash pilgrims, according to Samrat Tours and Travel. The overall death toll from the floods in Nepal has reached 95, officials said. Search-and-rescue operations by the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police are continuing.

In response, Bihar authorities opened all 36 gates of the Gandak Barrage as a precaution and placed six districts under high alert. Sadhguru said 495 people from 21 groups had returned safely, while 743 remained in Tibet and 148 were in Nepal. He expressed readiness to join rescue operations.
