800 kg gelatin seized from Bengaluru construction site

Bellandur police have seized over 800 kg of gelatin from a construction site in Bhoganahalli, Bengaluru, after residents alleged the explosive was being used illegally for rock blasting at night. The site is being developed by Adarsh company, and a school is located nearby. Residents claimed the midnight blasts caused panic and endangered children.

An FIR has been registered on a complaint from earthwork contractor Satish Naik. He alleges that in December 2025, Arun Kumar of Srinivasa Earth Movers had him remove rocks, then pressured him to use explosives. Naik says he refused and was removed from the job and threatened. The complaint names Srinivasa Earth Movers, site engineers, and Adarsh Developers directors.

Police are investigating how the gelatin was procured, whether permits were obtained, and if blasting actually occurred. Further details are expected as the probe continues.
