AAP leader Sri Chand Vohra arrested in Jaitpur plot dispute

Delhi Police arrested Aam Aadmi Party national council member Sri Chand Vohra from Gwalior on August 17 over allegations that he illegally occupied a plot belonging to a Dalit party worker in Delhi's Jaitpur Extension. The FIR was registered at Kalindi Kunj police station on July 31 under Sections 329(4) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The complainant, Rakesh Kumar, told police that he had allowed Vohra temporary use of the plot about three years ago but Vohra refused to return it despite repeated requests. The Assam Tribune reports that Vohra allegedly threw Kumar's belongings from the first floor onto the street three weeks ago. The penal provisions carry a maximum sentence of 10 years.

Delhi BJP has demanded that AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal expel Vohra and his wife Hema Vohra, an AAP councillor from Jaitpur, from the party. The allegations in the FIR are yet to be proved in court.
