Akshay Kumar’s Haiwaan teaser fails to impress, opening under Rs 6 crore predicted

The teaser for Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan's upcoming film Haiwaan has received a tepid response online, with trade experts now predicting an opening day collection of Rs 5-6 crore or lower, m9.news reports. The majority of social media users complained that the teaser relied heavily on showing shadows of the lead characters rather than their faces and kept the main subject too secret.

The film, which is a remake of Priyadarshan's own Malayalam movie Oppam (2016), has a release date of September 11, 2026. While Akshay's fans express confidence that Priyadarshan will adapt the story for a modern Hindi audience, some note that Hindi dubbed versions of Oppam are already available on YouTube, which could hurt the film.

Trade experts say the movie now needs a strong trailer to build excitement. Although Pritam is handling the music, critics say an action-thriller depends more on the clash between Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan than its soundtrack.
