Bangladesh stun Australia for first Test win Down Under

Bangladesh defeated Australia by nine wickets in Darwin on Sunday, securing their first Test victory on Australian soil. Chasing a target of 57, the visitors reached it in 14.2 overs with just one wicket lost. The win, only Bangladesh's second against Australia in Tests, also made them the quickest Asian team to win a Test in Australia, achieving the feat in their third match there.

Australia captain Pat Cummins admitted his side were "outplayed in all facets," according to the Times of India, with Bangladesh's Hasan Mahmud taking six wickets in the first innings to dismiss Australia for 198. Cameron Green scored a century for Australia in the second innings before being bowled by Mahmud. Former Australia batter Mark Waugh called it "possibly the biggest upset I can remember in Australia."

The defeat dropped Australia's World Test Championship points percentage from 87.50 to 77.77, though they retain the top spot, Times Now reported. Bangladesh's PCT rose to 66.67. The second and final Test of the series begins on August 22 in Mackay.
