Bengaluru woman held after husband and son found dead

A 26-year-old homemaker, Harini, has been detained for questioning after her husband Abhinandan, 35 or 34, and their four-year-old son were found dead at their home in Chikkabanavara, north-west Bengaluru, on Monday morning. Police registered a murder case after the man's mother, Bhagyamma, filed a complaint alleging injuries on the victims. Times of India reports that Harini called police at 7 am, but officers found the father and son had likely been smothered, with no sign of forced entry and the CCTV switched off after 10 pm Sunday.

Police said Harini had deleted her call history, messages, and photos, and was making contradictory statements. Times Now, citing the FIR, states that Abhinandan had injuries on his face and limbs with bleeding from the head, and the child appeared to have been strangled. The couple had frequent quarrels, and police suspect Harini planned the killings with a friend. An FIR has been registered against Harini and others under Sections 238 and 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is underway.
