BGMI Lite pre-registrations in India start August 25

Krafton has announced that pre-registrations for Battlegrounds Mobile India Lite (BGMI Lite) will begin on August 25, 2026, through the Google Play Store. Only Android users in India can pre-register initially. The game's initial download size is 1 GB, though Krafton has not confirmed the size of additional in-game downloads.

BGMI Lite is designed to run on affordable, low-end smartphones that struggle with the full BGMI. Times Now reports that leaks suggest no mandatory additional download will be required before a player's first match. The game is expected to include Classic Erangel and allow owned items to carry over from the main BGMI, keeping both versions connected for updates and content.

Krafton aims to expand its reach to budget phone users who want the BGMI experience without lag or heating issues. The publication notes that PUBG Lite had strong numbers in India historically, raising similar expectations for the new version.
