Cannabis arrests: Mumbai hydroponic lab, Bhopal labourer with 12 plants

Mumbai police have busted a hydroponic cannabis cultivation lab in Borivali's Ganpat Patil Nagar, seizing 54 grams of hydroponic cannabis valued at Rs 1.62 lakh along with 189 grams of wet cannabis worth Rs 2.5 lakh. The ABP News report says the lab used temperature, humidity and pH control plus LED lights, allegedly set up after watching YouTube videos. Police arrested Babbu Kamat and are searching for the main accused, Rahul Thakur.

Separately, India Today reports that a labourer in Bhopal was arrested last week after police found 12 cannabis plants growing at the under-construction building where he worked. Additional Police Commissioner Shailendra Singh Chauhan said the man, originally from Unnao in Uttar Pradesh, allegedly cultivated the plants to feed his own addiction. The plants were destroyed and a case registered under the NDPS Act. Police are investigating where he got the seeds and whether anyone else was involved.
