Bokshi poster out, Bhargav Saikia folk-horror hits theatres October 9

The makers of Bokshi have released a new poster for Bhargav Saikia's folk-horror film, which will release in Indian theatres on October 9, 2026. The film had its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) in 2025 and went on to screen at Sitges, Neuchâtel and SXSW Sydney.

Produced by Lorien Motion Pictures, Bokshi marks Saikia's feature directorial debut. The story follows Anahita, a troubled teenager who joins a school trek to a remote prehistoric site in Sikkim and discovers links to an ancient legend. The film was shot over 80 days in Sikkim forests and relies on practical effects. It features Prasanna Bisht, Mansi Multani and Siddharth Shaw, with Shernaz Patel voicing the title character.
