Delhi techie killed over chore row, wife and three held

A 31-year-old software engineer, Vinay Gupta, was allegedly killed at his home in Delhi's Nihal Vihar after an argument with his wife over applying medicine to their child's blisters. Police have arrested four people: his wife Rekha Gupta (30), her brothers Raju Jindal (35) and Ved Prakash Jindal (33), and Raju's wife Poonam (30). The victim worked at Adobe in Noida and had four-month-old twins with Rekha.

According to the victim's sister Kirti, Rekha refused to apply the medicine and left the house, returning with her relatives who then assaulted Vinay and his parents. The attackers allegedly sat on his chest, beat and strangled him. Vinay's father said he was pushed and his thumb may be fractured. CCTV footage shows a car arriving with the suspects and an injured man being taken out of the house. Vinay was declared brought dead at a hospital.

Police have questioned Rekha's parents and are examining witnesses and footage. The victim's family claims six people were involved but only four have been arrested, and that Rekha had called her brothers over a similar chore dispute a month ago. Police have not confirmed the total number of attackers.
