Devdutt Padikkal’s 167 leads India to 460/9 against Sri Lanka

Devdutt Padikkal scored a fluent 167 as India reached 460 for nine at stumps on the second day of the first Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo on Sunday. The match started late due to rain, and the Indian batsmen lost seven wickets for 172 runs after resuming at 288 for two, as Sri Lankan spinners struck back. Kuldeep Yadav (12) and Prasidh Krishna (1) were at the crease when play ended.

Padikkal, who resumed on 131, brought up his maiden Test 150 in 215 balls. Rishabh Pant was out for 39 after a poor shot off off-spinner Keshara Nuwantha, and KL Rahul added just four runs to his overnight score of 77 before falling to the same bowler.
