DGP Nalin Prabhat reviews J-K security ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat chaired a security review meeting at PCR Kashmir on Sunday to assess arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi, Raksha Bandhan and other upcoming events. The meeting was attended by senior police officers, including the IGP Kashmir Zone, IGP Jammu Zone, all range DIGs and district SSPs.

Discussions focused on deployment strategy, crowd management and traffic regulation. The DGP stressed heightened vigilance and foolproof security at major shrines, mosques and religious places, particularly Dargah Hazratbal where large congregations are expected. Officers were directed to ensure close coordination among field formations for timely response to any emerging situation.

The DGP also ordered effective traffic and route management around religious places and procession routes, and enhanced surveillance at markets and temples for Raksha Bandhan. The meeting concluded with a directive to put all necessary arrangements in place well in advance to ensure peaceful conduct of all events across the Union Territory.
